Do you DNA test your dogs?
Every dog in our Breeding program has had a DNA test done by embarkvet.com With Embark, we are able to see our dogs Genetics, Health, Physical traits and any Relatives they have that are also Embarked. This ensures that your puppies genetics reflect that of a Pomsky breed, having a percentage of only Siberian Husky and Pomeranian Breeds and most importantly that they are healthy! Embark tests for over 190+ health conditions and proves that we are using very healthy dogs in our breeding program.We make sure to include your puppies parents Embark results with you!
What are Pomskies Temperaments like?
Each individual Pomsky will of course vary in personality but you will find they all have traits inherited from both Huskies and Pomeranians. They are incredibly smart and very trainable, Pomeranians rank #23 and Siberian Huskies rank #45 on dogbreedslist.info. Pomskies may inherit the energy of a Husky but on a smaller scale making them very easy to manage. Pomskies are excellent family dogs who are vert playful, social and sweet much like their Pomeranian parents but you wont find them quite as underfoot as you would a Pomeranian, taking after a bit of a Huskies independent attitude. How big do Pomskies get?
Pomskies are a breed that mixes a Pomeranian and a Siberian Husky. There is always a chance that a Pomsky can take after one side more than the other resulting in a smaller then estimated or bigger then estimated Pomsky.We are always learning and updating as our Pomskies grow to get as accurate of a estimate as we can.
Example of Sizing-
50/50 Pomskies can vary in sizes from 10-30 lbs. At Karalot Pomskies our Pomeranians are all under 5 lbs and our female Huskies are under 40 pounds resulting in a smaller size Pomsky.
62.5% Husky/37.5% Pom, are Pomskies that have more Husky in them so they can lean on the larger side. Estimated size between 15-35 lbs. This is accomplished with breeding our Husky females with our Pomsky Stud Duke, who is 25/75.
37.5% Pom/62.5% Husky, are Pomskies that have more Pomeranian so they are smaller in size. Estimated size between 7-20 lbs. This is accomplished with breeding our Pomsky Females with our Pomsky Stud Duke, who is 25/75.
It is also very important to note thats its not always the adult weight that makes a difference but really the height that changes the look of a Pomsky to being considered small or large.
Do Pomskies shed?
Pomskies will shed their coats similar to their Husky and Pomeranian parents. A Pomsky with a shorter standard coat will shed more frequently however regardless of the coat quality they will have two major blow outs twice a year with the change of the season. The best way to minimize shedding is to brush your Pomsky daily.
Do you ship your Puppies?
At Karalot Pomskies we do not offer shipping puppies to their new homes. However, we are willing to meet families who fly in at the Airport. Also available in some circumstances is a Pet Nanny Service, where we can transport your new fur friend to its new city at an additional cost.
How do you breed your Pomskies?
All Breedings of 50/50 Pomskies are done with a female Siberian Husky and male Pomeranian. This is not by natural breeding as it would be very dangerous as well as ineffective. The best and most affective way for breeding is with Artificial Insemination. We use Left Coast Breeding for all of our Artificial Inseminations. They are a wonderful mobile breeder located in Northern California.
Do you offer breeding rights?
As responsible breeders we make sure our puppies go home with a spay/neuter contract. In some special circumstances we may offer breeding rights to those approved . In those circumstances it would be available for an additional cost of $1000. This allowance, however is not available for any of our Merle puppies.
What do you feed your Puppies?
